The main character here is definitely a man who likes to have a good time. This can be a problem if you are not a part of the wealthy aristocracy, as you have to earn a living, and all that sort of thing.
He achieves a bizarre court appointment, ends up working in a profession he has a talent for, and suffers other slings and roundabouts.
